HR management platform Zelt raises $6m

HR management platform Zelt has raised $6m in fundraising to expand its product set and offer services in new territories.

The London-based business has designed software allowing organisations to manage their workforce across the employee lifecycle in a single system, simplifying and automating people processes across HR, Finance and IT functions and allowing them to save money in the process.

Zelt was founded by Chris Priebe, a former VC and PE investor with experience in HR Tech. Since its launch in 2020, the platform has racked up over 150 customers including Shakespeare’s Globe, Club L and Mumsnet.

The seed funding round was led by Nauta, a pan-European VC investing in early-stage B2B software companies with offices in London and Barcelona, alongside participation from Venrex and Episode 1.

Priebe said the funding will “enable us to invest even more into building the best product available in the market.”

“We see a $50bn opportunity globally as organisations move away from legacy and point solutions, to a next-generation all-in-one platform. Alongside the capital, it’s great to have such an experienced and well aligned investor like Nauta on board as a partner at this stage in our journey.”

Carles Ferrer, General Partner at Nauta, added that HR managers have struggled with solutions which “have evolved and grown over the last 20 years, to the point where enterprises can have hundreds of subscriptions and chaotic practices in place to satisfy the needs of the workforce.”

“Zelt provides an answer to this problem, enabling a more modern approach to people operations.”
