Starting today, Milton Keynes Tech Week 2026 returns for its second year, bringing together technology, creative and business leaders from across the region for five days of events from 12 to 16 October.
Thousands are expected to attend over 40 events hosted by businesses and sponsors throughout the city, including a range of panels, workshops, demos and networking sessions to build new connections across business, research and government.
A hub for developing technology, Milton Keynes sits at the heart of the Oxford-Cambridge Growth Corridor, a world-leading centre for innovation. The city contributes over £15.7 billion to the UK economy, including £3.4 billion generated through tech, and is home to over 2,400 technology businesses.
The week will be delivered by Protospace CIC, a not-for-profit community interest company which supports technology and innovation growth in Milton Keynes, with Milton Keynes City Council as lead sponsor. All proceeds will be reinvested into the event and the wider tech ecosystem.
A number of leading businesses and organisations are also supporting Milton Keynes Tech Week as key partners, including The Open University, Natwest, HMGCC, BSI, Hays, MK:U and Milton Keynes College, with organisations contributing their unique insights and expertise to events and activities throughout the programme.
At the centre of the week, the official Tech Week Conference will be hosted by the BBC’s Zoe Kleinman on Thursday 15 October. The conference will explore what sovereign technology means in practice, why it matters for UK competitiveness, and the opportunities it presents to businesses.
Attendees will hear from leading academics, government officials, and technology and businesses leaders across sessions covering sovereign AI and data, advanced manufacturing and deep tech, building resilient technology capability, and the entrepreneurship ecosystem developing across the Growth Corridor.
Other highlights during the week include the Accelerating AI Conference, featuring partners such as Canva, Microsoft and Google; Stadiums of the Future, exploring the technology reshaping live sport and entertainment; RoboPASS, examining the future of robotics and autonomous smart machines in public spaces; and the Hays Women in Tech interactive panel session, bringing together women from across the sector to share their experiences and discuss how more women can be supported to progress in technology.
Oliver Water, Co-founder and Director at Protospace CIC said: “After the success of the first Milton Keynes Tech Week last year, we wanted to come back with an even broader programme that reflects the strength and diversity of the technology community we have here in Milton Keynes.
“Tech Week is all about bringing together leaders and experts from across the industry to spark conversations and collaborations that may not otherwise happen. We want people to come away with new ideas, perspectives and connections that can help shape the future of innovation across the region.
“There is a real opportunity to build on the technological progress happing here in Milton Keynes, and this week will showcase what the city has to offer.”
