Alternative asset provider Ctrl Alt has secured £2.2m in an investment round led by Forward Partners and Middle Game Ventures.
Initially beginning as a B2C business, the startup now operates a B2B model granting fintech platforms access to alternative assets like green energy and property.
“A diversified portfolio should play a key role in any investment strategy and it’s not right that alternative assets, a typically robust form of investment, remain in the old world of money,” said Matt Ong, CEO and co-founder of Ctrl Alt.
Companies can tap into Ctrl Alt’s asset database through its API, white-label software or terminal trading platform, as well as raise asset financing.
Ctrl Alt’s team is spread between London and Dundalk, Ireland. It was founded by Ong, who has experience at Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse, in 2020.
Megha Prakash, senior investor at Forward Partners said: “At Forward, we see a massive opportunity to democratise access to financial investments for eligible investors who have hitherto been locked out of these markets due to large tickets, administrative complexity and a lack of access.”
The fintech’s round attracted further investment from Enterprise Ireland, Algorand Ventures, 365.fintech, Syndicate Room, Unbundled VC’s Marc Cohen, former Citymapper president Omid Ashtari, Velocity Black co-founder Alex Macdonald and others.
