An interior design platform that provides tools from “sourcing to procurement” has raised £550,000 in a pre-seed round led by QVentures.

Co-founded by designers Lori Bolon and Matteo Grand, Portaire can be used to source more than 40,000 design items, communicate with suppliers and create boards.

Bolon said: “After years of working internationally as an interior designer, I’m so excited to be a part of the change we are seeing in the industry today.

“The industry deserves better solutions for their daily tasks and the way in which we collaborate. With years of experience and a deep understanding of the tech required, Portaire is one of those industry-changing moments we are all patiently waiting for.”

Portaire’s co-founders in the past have completed design work for Adobe, Mercedes and Vogue.

The pre-seed round also attracted capital from angel investors.

Robert Walsh, managing partner at QVentures, said: “Their tools will streamline workflows and create efficiencies, transforming the way interior designers work.”

QVentures took part in the online content creation platform Prospect 100’s pre-seed in August.
