All-in-one e-commerce shipping platform Sendcloud plots UK expansion with £128M funding

A leading European all-in-one e-commerce shipping platform, Sendcloud empowers online retailers to compete by optimising the full shipping journey from checkout to returns. Now, it has closed a $177 million (nearly £128 million) in a Series C funding round.

UK expansion plans

The investment round was led by Softbank Vision Fund 2 with a significant strategic investment from L Catterton and HPE Growth. The company intends to expand into the UK with this fresh funding. Currently, they have a team of 15 salespeople and 3 marketeers in the UK and intend to double the team by 2022 and grow to a team size of 60 by 2024.

Besides the UK, Sendcloud will use this capital to further accelerate growth, expand its international presence, and fuel global platform adoption. Sendcloud currently has 400 employees and plans to hire another 250 in the next 12 months to support the Company’s growth. Besides this, Neil Cunha-Gomes and Monika Wilk, both Investors at Softbank Investment Advisers, will join the Company’s board of directors alongside L Catterton’s Ido Krakowsky.

Optimised shipping process

Founded by Rob van den Heuvel, Bas Smeulders, and Sabi Tolou in 2021, Sendcloud helps online businesses fully optimise their shipping process and deliver a superior end-shopping experience.
