The Drop, a London-based startup which makes menswear on demand, has raised £250,000 from early-stage VC Forward Partners.
Founded in 2016 by Jonathan Kruger, a manufacturing executive who oversaw Chinese production for some of the world’s biggest retailers, The Drop claims to make clothing in under three weeks.
Kruger has been joined by technical co-founder Stephen Stroud, who has worked as a senior software developer in various VC backed startups and financial institutions.
Jonathan Kruger, co-founder and CEO of The Drop, said: “We are so excited to have raised our early-stage funding and to be working alongside Forward Partners. This investment will help us to innovate the current ‘one size fits all’ clothing industry model which frankly does little for the consumers it’s supposed to serve.
“We hope to build a new model that better serves consumers, that is more efficient and helps to reduce the needless waste produced by legacy fashion retailers.”
The team will now spend the next 12 months working with Forward Partners’ in-house team of marketers, investors, developers, designers and recruiters to scale the platform.
