Ad Signal, a York-based provider of software tools for media companies to manage their content, has raised £3m.

Founded in 2018, Ad Signal has built a suite of products for broadcasters, advertisers and post-production houses to keep track of content.

With the software platform, businesses can organise their media libraries, remove unnecessary duplicates and track where their ads are being broadcast.

The company counts Sky, Clearcast and the Broadcasters Audience Research Board among its customer base.

Ad Signal said the new funding will allow the company to expand its commercial footprint and develop new products for its software suite.

“This investment is a major milestone for Ad Signal and a strong endorsement of the vision we’ve built over the last few years,” said founder and chief executive Tom Dunning.

“Watch this space – we are about to set a new standard for how content could be understood with a sustainability-focused approach.”

The funding came from Foresight Group.

“We are delighted to partner with Tom and the whole team at Ad Signal on what we believe will be an exciting journey,” said Foresight Group investment manager Samir Rea.

“The combination of a compelling commercial opportunity, whilst also lowering customers’ carbon requirements, hopefully makes this a promising investment for Foresight.”
