In recent years, there are debates over work locations and office culture all over the world. Employees and employers are having an open conversation about the future of work as they adapt to new working conditions and there is an increased awareness of harassment and other issues in the workplace.
This is where the Manchester-based HR tech firm, Culture Shift plays a major role as it helps prevent workplace bullying and harassment with its proprietary online reporting platform. In a recent development, the impact software firm has pocketed £1.5 million in a funding round led by Praetura Ventures and Blackfinch Ventures.
Eyes to expand in UK
Previously, Culture Shift secured £1.35 million in March 2020 from the same investors. Since then, the business has significantly grown its client base and operations. The new funding will let Culture Shift make a significant number of new hires in Manchester, and expand into new markets across the UK. This will help the company support more UK organisations in proactively improving culture.

Proprietary online reporting platform
Founded in 2018 by Gemma McCall, Stuart Bradley and Carl Sadd, Culture Shift has created a platform for people to confidentially and safely report workplace harassment. Its proprietary online reporting platform removes the barriers to reporting issues of harassment or bullying, thereby enabling organisations to take a proactive and preventative approach to protect their people and their culture.
The software provides individuals a safe environment to report an event and then offers direction to appropriate emotional or practical support. Also, the system provides the organisation with data to manage and address any particular issues or a growing pattern of misconduct that may have been occurring and a case management tool to effectively manage communication with the involved parties.
Currently, it has a team of 70 from UK’s top universities and is working with a number of other organisations as well. It is set to grow further as the esponse to this technology has been overwhelmingly positive from both staff and students as it resolves some of their challenges around dealing with negative interactions.
