London-headquartered payments network Volt has appointed Matt Henderson, who previously was the CEO of Stripe Europe, as a special advisor to its board.
Henderson is also the founder of the shopping analytics startup Rangespan, which was acquired by Google in 2014.
“I have always been impressed by Volt’s approach to solving the fragmented infrastructure problem of account-to-account payments,” said Henderson.
“They manage performance at the most granular level, yet abstract away complexity for their customers.”
Earlier this year Volt landed a £47m in a Series B round to support its growth in Asia and the Americas.
The fintech’s latest recruit has additional experience as a product director at Amazon and director of product management at Google.
Tom Greenwood, CEO and founder of Volt, said: “As we prepare for global expansion, having Matt onboard will be instrumental in helping us shape our product roadmap in order to help realise our mission for real-time payments everywhere.”
Aside from being a special advisor at Volt, Henderson is a board advisor and non-executive director at investment manager Apollo Global.
Established in 2019, Volt is used by payment service providers and merchants to deal with transactions. Volt previously raised £17m for its Series A round back in June 2021.
