Milton Keynes-based holographic tech company Envisics has secured a further $50m (£39.8m) in funding from investors.

The top-up means the company has closed its Series C round at more than $100m (£79.6m).

Envisics’ final Series C tranche saw M&G Investments come on board as a shareholder. Previous backer Van Tuyl Companies provided follow on investment.

Envisics has developed heads-up displays for vehicles that layer graphics on top of the real world. The augmented reality overlay provides vehicle information and navigation assistance.

The company said it will use the proceeds of the funding round to refine its technology and accelerate into new markets.

“We continue to make great progress on developing and delivering dynamic holography as a viable product at scale to the world’s leading automakers,” said Dr Jamieson Christmas, CEO and founder of Envisics.

Hyundai Mobis and Jaguar Land Rover’s InMotion Ventures backed Envisics’ $50m (£42.2m) Series C funding round in March at a valuation of $500m (£421.9m).

Jaguar Land Rover has been a customer since 2010. Envisics’ technology is also slated to be used in General Motors’ Cadillac LYRIQ SUV.

According to Envisics, the addressable AR HUD market will increase to 19.1 million units in 2032.

Despite being UK-headquartered, Envisics is owned by the Delaware-based corporation Envisics Inc.
