UK robotics firms have raised $258m (£189.3m) across 12 rounds in 2026 so far, up from $150m (£110m) and eight rounds in 2025 and $37.4m (£27.4m) and 19 rounds in 2024, according to a new report by Tracxn Technologies.
Cumulative funding across the UK’s 357 robotics companies stands at $2.2bn (£1.6bn), with the aforementioned £189.3m raised in 2026 year-to-date (YTD) exceeding the $150m (£110m) raised in 2025.
This increase was driven by larger deals, led by Humanoid’s $152m (£112m) Series A and Automata’s $45m (£33m) Series C rounds. By comparison, 2025 was dominated by CMR Surgical’s $131m (£96.1m) Series D.
Humanoid and Automata’s rounds together accounted for 76% of the UK’s robotics funding in 2026 YTD.
Cambridge leads UK robotics funding with $1.3B (£954m) raised across 13 rounds and 12 companies, exceeding London and Bristol combined. London follows with $582m (£427m) across 75 rounds and 103 companies, highlighting a stark difference in funding concentration despite London’s much larger company base.
UK robotics recorded one acquisition in 2026 YTD – REEF’s purchase of KAIKAKU – compared with one in 2025 and two in 2024. The sector has recorded 15 acquisitions overall, with acquired companies raising an average of $4.4m (£3.2m) before exit and being acquired 4.1 years after first funding.
The past three months have seen a flurry of activity in the UK robotics sector, spanning from investment rounds to partnership deals.
In May, manufacturing giant Bosch announced a deal with British AI and robotics group Humanoid that will see the German corporation’s factories supported by specialised robots.
In July, Cambridge-based agtech startup Dogtooth Technologies secured over £14m in growth capital to scale the commercial deployment of its AI-powered fruit-harvesting robots.
Later that month, robotics software startup Kinematic Trees raised £585k in pre-seed funding to scale its nature-inspired, robot-agnostic technology.
