Aevus Software picks Abergele in Wales for global HQ

Worldspan spin-off company Aevus Software has selected Abergele in North Wales to home its global headquarters over London.
Picking Wales to home its headquarters follows a six-figure deal in June from the Development Bank of Wales.
Speaking to UKTN, CEO of Aevus Software Craig Moss said: “Housing our HQ in North Wales may not seem at first glance as the obvious location. We understand there are advantages in having key locations for the sake of image etc.”
However, the North Wales headquarters decision was “unanimous”, says Moss, as it was where the company began. Other places in contention were Manchester, London, Dublin and Texas.
“It is a beautiful destination, and we believe it offers a great foundation for businesses, including technology and infrastructure support.”
Aevus Software was created after the events agency Worldspan turned to in-house development of cloud applications.
Event software offered by the Welsh firm includes personalised content delivery, event customisation, payment services and analytics.
Worldspan has already been at the North Wales Technology Park in Abergele for more than 20 years, which is where Aevus Software will now be headquartered.
The offshoot was founded by Moss, chairman Jason Wilcock, CTO Ian Davies and company director Sophie Morris.
Welsh-based mobile payments company Mypinpad recently raised £10m in Series A funding.
