LCR Angel Network, a Liverpudlian regional investor group that has facilitated millions in tech investment, has rebranded to Gateway Angels.

The group launched in 2017 to provide angel investors in the region with access to early-funding opportunities and grow Liverpool’s startup scene.

It has supported funding rounds for startups including Heatio, a Liverpool-based provider of home energy management technology.

Under its new branding, the group will still work specifically within the Liverpool City Region as part of the Merseyside Special Investment Fund (MSIF).

“Our new name, Gateway Angels, embodies our role as the premier entry point for investors looking to access the Liverpool City Region’s rich pipeline of start-up and scale-up companies,” said Gateway Angels director Katie Nicholson.

“This rebrand signals an exciting new chapter in our evolution, fuelled by our commitment to fostering an environment where angel investors and ambitious entrepreneurs can connect and thrive.”

As part of the rebrand, Gateway Angels has also relaunched its website.

“We are thrilled to continue our support of Gateway Angels as they embrace this new era of growth and opportunity,” said MSIF chair Neil Ashbridge.

“Their rebrand perfectly captures the spirit of collaboration, inclusivity, and innovation that has been the hallmark of their success and has seen them become the leading Angel Network in Liverpool City Region.”
