InMotion Ventures, the venture capital division of Jaguar Land Rover, has hired ex-BP Ventures analyst Sam Nasrolahi as principal.

Nasrolahi joins InMotion Ventures from her previous role as expansion principal at mobility startup Via, where she was responsible for its ridesharing and delivery service in the EMEA and US.

Before this, she worked at BP as an investment finance & performance analyst and investment analyst for M&A.

“I’m really excited to join InMotion at this time, as they look to ramp up their investment activity in the automotive sector. The team’s reputable depth of knowledge and expertise, combined with its comprehensive network within the startup ecosystem, made it a perfect fit for me,” said Nasrolahi.

The venture capital firm invests in startups working in the automotive space, mostly investing in Europe and US from Seed to Series B.

In her new role, Nasrolahi will look for potential investments and support the firms in InMotion’s existing portfolio.

Alex Smout, principal, InMotion Ventures said: “Her corporate investing background at BP Ventures makes her the perfect addition as we identify new investment opportunities, and her operational experience at one of the mobility industry’s most exciting startups will be an invaluable resource for our portfolio founders as they continue to scale their businesses.”

Launched in 2016, InMotion’s portfolio contains motoring finance app Carmoola, car repair buy now pay later (BNPL) Bumper and Circulor that uses blockchain technology to track materials.

Mobility startup Arrival yesterday said it plans to begin deliveries of its electric vans from its Bicester microfactory by the end of the year.
