UKTN Podcast: Why quantum computing is the next industrial revolution, with the CPO of Quantinuum

UKTN Podcast Quantinuum

Ilyas Khan, founder and chief product officer at Quantinuum, explains why quantum computers have the potential to radically change everything about how computing works, how the top prize in quantum has generated a geopolitical race, and what it’s like quietly building a deep tech multi-corn.

Khan is the founder of Cambridge Quantum, which in 2021 merged with US-based Honeywell to create Quantinuum, a deep tech company developing scalable quantum computers.

The deal combined Cambridge Quantum’s quantum computing software with Honeywell’s quantum computer hardware.

During the show, Khan and UKTN Podcast host Jane Wakefield discuss the ways in which quantum computing will disrupt business, and why “society cannot make the same mistakes we made with classical computing” when it comes to geopolitics.

Elsewhere on the show, Khan shares advice for companies going through a merger and explains why the UK’s quantum strategy is a “stunning success”.
