In the latest episode of the UKTN Podcast, Currencycloud co-founder Richard Arundel talks about maintaining a good business culture whilst growing rapidly, explains how developments in cross-border payments have made a real impact on people’s lives and shares his view on the current state of challenger banks.
Arundel helped build the payments infrastructure company Currencycloud in 2012 from a background of 15 years working in foreign exchange markets.
London-headquartered Currencycloud’s APIs power multicurrency wallets, currency exchange services and account management for major fintechs including Revolut, Starling and Monese.
The company raised more than $160m in funding before it was acquired by Visa in 2021 for £700m.
During the show, the Currencycloud co-founder talks to UKTN Podcast host Jane Wakefield about that acquisition and shares key learnings from the process, as well as his thoughts on the fintech market.
