Crowdfunding app WhatWeWant has delivered 5,000 plastic face visors to the Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust (CLCH), ensuring key healthcare workers have access to vital PPE.
CLCH provides community health services to more than 2 million people across 11 London boroughs and Hertfordshire. Their team of 4,000 professionals deliver high-quality healthcare in people’s homes and local clinics, supporting patients through all stages of lives; from new-born babies through to community nursing, stroke rehabilitation and palliative care.
London-based start-up WhatWeWant delivered the visors this week. It is continuing to raise money for this project, and people can contribute via the online funding page.
The WhatWeWant app has been used throughout the coronavirus pandemic to raise money for good causes. The family-run start-up, which is currently donating all of its fees to the National Emergencies Trust, has also backed several crowdfunding campaigns itself.
Yiannis Faf, CEO of WhatWeWant, said: “The shortage of PPE for NHS staff has been well-documented, so we are delighted to be taking action to ensure amazing healthcare professionals are better protected. CLCH provides vital support to millions of people across London and Hertfordshire – there could not be a more worthwhile cause to rally behind at this time.
“Through our crowdfunding app, we have been overwhelmed by the amount of support the British public are pledging for good causes during the pandemic. In many ways, the crisis is bringing out the best in people and we would urge everyone to continue doing what they can to support key workers and vulnerable people in the weeks ahead.”

WhatWeWant (WWW) is a crowdfunding app, which allows users to upload what they want for an upcoming event for themselves, or someone else. Users can contribute to what their friends and family want as well as notifying them to contribute to whatever you have uploaded. Once enough funds have been raised, users can simply spend the money.
