Viber, the messaging platform, has launched a Space Challenges educational chatbot to inspire the next generation of scientists, technicians, analysts, engineers and astronauts.
Spaceport Odyssey is an online educational app which offers the next generation of scientists and explorers “access to an unprecedented collection of space knowledge” according to Viber.
The Viber Space Challenges chatbot engages users in a series of missions and access to exclusive Viber Communities where fellow space enthusiasts, as well as top-notch sector experts, will engage in cosmic discussions about the biggest space challenges ahead.
Space Challenges’ mission is to help develop a future generation of young scientists and technologists. Spaceport Odyssey users are able to embark on an educational and entertaining space-time journey with access to information from leading experts from renowned organisations, universities and companies.
Viber’s Space Challenges chatbot seeks to engage and excite young people into science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) through space exploration. Increasing young people’s skills, aspirations and participation in STEM is a key priority for the UK Government, as identified in its Industrial Strategy white paper.
Space lovers can immerse themselves in an interactive environment with hundreds of hours of video content which offers users two modes:
- Campaign missions to gradually travel through the stories of six unique characters;
- A Mind Map which allows direct access to a selection of space topics and units.
Completing the space missions allows users to advance their own space colony and earn medals. Only successful space cadets who have completed their missions gain access to exclusive Viber Communities, where they can immerse themselves in deeper conversations about Space Science, Engineering, Biology, Exploration, Applications, and Robotics
