UK EdTech startup Gojimo has been acquired by the Telegraph Media Group for an undisclosed sum.
The startup, founded by George Burgess at the age of 17, has raised $3m in funding to date, having closed a $1.8m Seed in December 2015.
According to TechCrunch, Gojimo is believed to be keeping on the team and the firm will operate as a separate entity from the Telegraph Media Group.
The app provides students with quiz questions for all major school subjects and was established as a result of the founder’s growing frustration with the lack of quality educational apps.
To date, Gojimo has attracted investment from backers including Robin Klein, Saul Klein and Index Ventures.
Speaking to Tech City News following the closure of Gojimo’s Seed round, Burgess said: “We are amazed by the reception Gojimo has had from British students.
“Its success proves that students are looking for modern methods of exam preparation that complement or replace their physical books and practice papers,” he added.
Force Over Mass, JamJar Investments and London Co-Investment Fund have also backed Gojimo.
