Drop your laptop and get on your bike.
That’s the message that has convinced over 100 tech professionals since 2012 to complete Techbikers: a 200 mile cycle from Paris to London in aid of Room to Read.
To date, they’ve raised £100,000 – this September Tech City News Art Director Zarina Holmes has been selected to take part.
Help build schools in Africa and Asia
Room to Read envision a world where all children can pursue a quality education, focussing on literacy and gender equality in education.
Two-thirds of the world’s illiterate people are female, and Zarina’s grandmothers and aunt were among them.
Zarina has a target of £500, which she says can go a long way.
£500 is only a month’s rent for many of us in London.
But to impoverished children in Asia and Africa, it could mean a new school library.
