Events listing platform Revl has closed a £2.4m Seed round, supported by private investors.

The app, which launched out of stealth mode today, helps UK consumers discover events, shows and performances.

Revl has collaborated with over 600 brand partners, including The O2, Wembley Stadium, British Museum, Natural History Museum, National Gallery, and the V&A, along with 17 ticketing partners.

It has launched with over 130,000 events on its platform at more than 40,000 venues.

The app includes a feature called REVL PLAYlists, which enables users to follow their favourite venues, teams, artists and performers, or explore curated recommendations.

There is also a live news feed, so users can stay up to date with the latest event announcements, plus a ticket comparison engine so they can ensure they’re getting the best price.

REVL was created by Silicon Valley expats, and husband and wife duo, Brandon Stephens, and Jennifer Roebuck. Stephens founded the Mexican restaurant chain Tortilla and Roebuck previously worked as multi-channel marketing director at French Connection. The third co-founder is Aryn Clark, a technology recruitment entrepreneur.

“The UK has the most vibrant event scene in Europe, but keeping up with what’s going on is challenging and time-consuming,” said Stephens.

“With Revl, we want to ensure that whether it’s quiz night at your local pub or your favourite global-touring artist coming to town, everyone knows about the experiences and events that matter to them,” he added.

The firm is to use the £2.4m in funding to fuel its expansion across the UK.
