Marvel raises £4m Series A round led by BGF Ventures

Marvel

Marvel, a prototyping and collaboration app, has raised a £4m Series A round led by BGF Ventures.

Previous investors including Index Ventures, Connect Ventures and Inreach Ventures also participated in the round.

This investment follows Marvel’s recent acquisition of Pop, a Taiwanese prototyping tool, which expanded the firm’s international userbase.

Murat Mutlu, co-founder of Marvel, commented: “Marvel is democratising design and empowering everyone to be involved in the process. We are lowering the barrier to getting started in design and making it much easier for people to work collaboratively.

“The recent acquisition of Pop and our successful fundraising give us the opportunity to make huge strides in bringing Marvel to even more people,” he added.

Expansion

The London-based firm plans to use the funds to build its sales and customer services teams. The money will also enable Marvel to accelerate product development and expand into new markets.

Rory Stirling, partner at BGF Ventures, commented: “Amazing things happen when technology is used to simplify creative processes and we believe Marvel has the ability to transform the way individuals and teams create great products on a global basis.

“This is exactly the type of ambition we like to back at BGF Ventures and we look forward to helping the team scale up a business that already has an impressive and loyal user base,” he concluded.
