MONDAY 15 JUNE
Funding your startup: Ensuring investment is a catalyst not a catastrophe
When you’re just getting started, the startup funding world can look very complex. Tech City News has partnered up with accountancy experts Blick Rothenberg LLP and small business finance gurus NatWest to give you the chance to hear first-hand experience of how to untangle the investment web. From concept through to exit or IPO, the event will offer great insight and give you the chance to meet experts who can help you at every step of the way.
Hear funding stories from Karen Kerrigan, legal and finance director at top crowdfunding platform Seedrs, understand how Skimlinks‘ funding journey has unravelled, and listen to Richard Corbett, founder and CEO of Eyetease, talk about taking a different route.
TUESDAY 16 JUNE
FutureTech: The end of the world as we know it?
Partnering up with technology law experts Bristows LLP and Internet of Everything evangelists Cisco, this event will give you a breathtaking view of how London’s startups are currently preparing for the demands of tomorrow.
Bill Clee, CEO and founder of smart cities firm Asset Mapping, Naveed Parvez, founder and CEO of 3D-printed orthotics maker Andiamo, Zoe Peden, CEO of Insane Logic, Chris Holder, partner at Bristows LLP and Tom Kneen, head of British Innovation Gateway at Cisco UK and Ireland, will discuss the technology that is shaping the future; from robot surgeons to delivery drones, hypercustomisation to the smart world. The panel will look at everything from operational to legal implications of how nascent ideas of today will soon be part of our everyday lives.
Bristows LLP partners, who work across IP, data protection, real estate, employment and legal issues around fundraising, acquisitions, consumers and contracts will be on hand throughout the event to answer your questions over a cold beer.

Pitch Perfect workshop: How to sell your big idea
Former ITV News anchor and the Tech City News Week in Tech presenter Sian Jones is hosting a workshop to help tech startup founders develop their communication skills and become more effective at pitching their business. Training will range from simple confidence building exercies to creating maximum impact in front of investors, dealing with the media and answering those tricky questions.
