#LDNTechWeek: Zendesk gives £150,000 to help youth employment in London

San Fran’s Zendesk has partnered with the Mayor of London’s Team London HeadStart programme to provide youth employment opportunities via its Neighbour Foundation.

Zendesk is contributing £150,000 over three years as part of its commitment to “being a good neighbour” within the global cities it operates in.

The company funds its charitable work by donating $1 per month from every customer service platform and live chat products subscription to its Foundation.

Making the commitment during London Technology Week, Zendesk is the first tech company to sign up to Team London’s Headstart London programme, which seeks to provide seasonal employment and workshop to local young people.

“As well as helping to tackle youth unemployment, Zendesk, as the programme’s technology partner, are playing a vital role in preparing young people for roles in this increasingly important and thriving industry in London,” said Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

“The Zendesk team in London has a wealth of skills to offer the HeadStart London programme candidates and are really looking forward to helping young people take that next step up the career ladder,” said Tiffany Apczynski, executive director of the Zendesk Neighbour Foundation.
