London’s 3D printing community MyMiniFactory has celebrated hitting its £500,000 Seedrs goal with the appointment of the Royal Mail’s Nick Pendleton to its board.
The platform enables people to share their 3D designs, participate in competitions, find relevant jobs and buy products, as well as offering a number of community and learning opportunities in this growing space.
MyMiniFactory is now overfunding for the round, offering just over 5% of its company.
Pendleton was director of corporate strategy and innovation for Royal Mail, having worked alongside MyMiniFactory to bring 3D printing to the public in his former role.
He said: “The company is going from strength to strength and is constantly striving to innovate with new tools and features. This makes me confident we can continue to lead the development of a vibrant and engaged 3D community that helps create the compelling and stress tested designs that are needed for the industry to flourish.”
Pendleton joins Facebook’s head of ecommerce Nicolas Franchet as a non-executive director of the company.
This crowd investment in the two-year-old startup values it at almost £1om.
