InsurTech startup InMyBag has raised £300,000 in pre-Seed money from investors including onefinestay co-founder Demetrios Zoppos.
The London-based company also attracted the support of startup incubator Hambro Perks; Michael Eakins, managing director and head of insurance strategy group at Goldman Sachs; and Alan Clifton, director of Aviva Investors Alternative Funds PCC Limited.
InMyBag, which closed the round in February last year, will use the money to market itself its target customer base of mobile professionals.
Iain Harper, the CEO, said: “We built InMyBag because people kept telling us that they needed a recovery service they could trust. Time and time again we heard stories of people being let down by insurance when they needed it the most.
“InMyBag was created by people who care about the quality of their work, who value trust and simplicity and is thus targeted at people, like them, that want things that just work,” added Harper, who previously led the digital transformation at Zurich Insurance Group.
The firm recently partnered with Cambridge-based Featurespace, and will be using the latter’s machine learning platform to identify and block online fraud.
