#HyperCatCity smart city hub marks official launch

The #HyperCatCity collaboration between the government-backed Future Cities Catapult, the Mayor of London, BT, Cisco and other leading players has officially opened its doors in the city.

The smart cities hub focuses on creating interoperable solutions for redesigning cities around energy, transport, water, waste and security, and already has a packed programme of events for those interested in urban innovation.

HyperCatCity is based at the Urban Innovation Centre and will be working on the strategy for the Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation, the Mayor’s planned “exemplar community” redevelopment in north-west London.

Justin Anderson, CEO of IoT platfom Flexeye and a founder of #HCC, said: “The #HyperCatCity Accelerator is bringing together great thinkers and big businesses to shape the smart strategy for the UK’s biggest urban regeneration project.

“The accelerator also provides a fantastic venue – perfectly located in the Future Cities Catapult centre – for the companies involved to showcase their services and collaborate to deliver value for a wide range of cities.”
