HomeTouch has closed a £700,000 funding round from Global Founders Capital (GFC) to boost its growth across the whole of the UK by 2017.

The funding, which also came from Passion Capital and angel investors, will be used for investment in performance marketing and further product development.

Founded by former NHS physician Dr Jamie Wilson, HomeTouch seeks to provide greater transparency for families looking for care and claims to raise the hourly income of home carers by 75%.

Wilson, the founder and CEO, said: “Global Founders Capital is one of Europe’s leading investors in tech startups and has an unparalleled track record of identifying promising business models. We appreciate the trust GFC places in our company, allowing us to offer our service to more UK families and beyond as we enter new territories.”

The company also received a £250,000 grant from the UK government for research and development, bringing its total funding to date to £1.75m.

HomeTouch’s recent raise comes after it closed an undisclosed round from prominent VC Passion Capital.
