As part of its mission, the APPG will seek to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and policitians, ensuring that entrepreneurs’s input into the policymaking process, and informing them of changes to policies that may impact their businesses directly.

“I’m proud today to be launching the APPG for Entrepreneurship, which will make sure the voice of entrepreneurs is heard loud and clear in Parliament,” he added.

In the first year, the APPG for Entrepreneurship will focus on four policy areas:

Enterprise Education: How can we ensure our schools, colleges and universities equip students with the skills necessary to start businesses?
Exporting: What’s holding back British entrepreneurs from punching our weight when it comes to exporting?
Tax Reform: What reforms can we make to the current tax system to further encourage British entrepreneurs?
Female Founders: Why are too few women-led businesses reaching the same economic scale as that achieved by male-led companies?

Alan Mak MP, Chair of the APPG for Entrepreneurship, added: “The new Entrepreneurship APPG will be a key bridge between Westminster policymakers and entrepreneurs across Britain.

“Economic growth driven by innovation, exports and educational excellence is at the top of the Government’s agenda, and I’m delighted Business Secretary Sajid Javid is reaffirming his commitment to entrepreneurship by launching our APPG,” concluded Mak.
