HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) has awarded IT services group Atos a three-year contract worth up to £78.2m to oversee governance and configuration across the tax authority’s low-code application ecosystem.
Under the agreement, awarded as Lot 3 under HMRC’s Digital and Legacy Application Services (DALAS) procurement framework, Atos will provide technical leadership, delivery governance, and assurance for HMRC’s low-code platforms. The three-year contract includes options for a further two-year extension.
The partnership is aimed at modernising HMRC’s legacy IT estate, accelerating software deployment cycles, and improving digital interfaces for taxpayers, businesses, and civil service staff.
The deal expands Atos’s public sector IT delivery footprint across UK government departments as Whitehall continues to consolidate legacy enterprise software into scalable cloud and low-code environments.
“We’re proud to be expanding our long-standing relationship with HMRC through this appointment,” said Michael Herron, head of Atos UK&I.
“Our proven technical expertise and experience in public sector transformation makes Atos well-placed to support HMRC as it looks to deliver better digital experiences for citizens at pace.”
