AI minister hails US tech investments at opening of robotics centre

Kanishka Narayan, the UK’s minister for AI and online safety, hailed the contributions of US tech firms to the British economy at the opening of a surgical robotics training centre owned by American firm Intuitive.

Speaking to UKTN, Narayan, who attended the opening of Intuitive’s new UK headquarters in Reading on Thursday, said the launch was a “practical realisation of the promise” of the UK-US tech prosperity agreement made in September.

“The US relationship is clearly incredibly important to our national goals on technology,” Narayan said.

“The scale we can reach together as two countries is grand, and it means tons more jobs and opportunities for people in Britain.”
