London-based travel tech startup Firef.ly has raised more than $1m through the Seedrs crowdfunding platform and a grant from Innovate UK.
The app, which helps you plan and capture your holidays, after which you can buy a one-of-a-kind data visualisation of your trip, exceeded its $445,000 Seedrs target. It’s received $516,514 so far, for a 15.79% stake in the business, with a sliding scale of equity depending on final funding. The crowdfund finishes in April but 190 investors from 15 countries have already made an investment.
The company has also got an additional $574,164 equity-free grant from Innovate UK, the government’s innovation agency.
The team is also currently participating in the three-month Microsoft Ventures Accelerator Programme in London.
“We are hard at work crafting an experience that meets the demands of modern-day travellers, and massively humbled to receive support from so many avenues,” said Firef.ly CEO Chad Cribbins. “With the relationships and connections in London, we will have more doors opened for us to help get to where we need to be.”
