Collider opens second £1m madtech fund of 2015

London’s Collider is opening up its second accelerator of 2015, backed by £1m of angel investment cash to put into 10 matdtech startups.

Each team can get up to £150,000 for a 22% stake in their business, along with a one-year mentorship programme that includes four months of intensive training where they can develop their idea with leading brands and agencies.

Some of the areas the accelerator is interested in exploring are: AI, virtual reality and SaaS, with partners including Unilever and Diageo. Previous participants include Brandvee, Burst and SyncSpot.

Mentors on the scheme include: Gabbi Cahane, cofounder of Meanwhile, Paul Frampton, CEO of Havas Media, Nicole Yershon, director of digital innovations at Ogilvy & Mather Group UK, and David Prasher, MD of Haymarket Media Group.

The programme’s angel investors come from ex-senior marketing roles at large brands and agencies: Unilever, Ogilvy & Mather Group UK, HSBC, Starcom MediaVest, Pepsi, Barclays, Saatchi & Saatchi and Engine.

Rose Lewis, cofounder of Collider, said: “Brands and agencies have understood they need to work with startups to stay ahead of their competition.”

The selection process is live on F6S and closes on 14 August.
