Pension and savings fintech Cushon has brought in Ellen Louw, a former executive at American Express and Reach PLC, as chief financial officer (CFO).

Cushon, which NatWest agreed to acquire a majority stake in back in February, provides workplace savings services including pensions, ISAs and spending targets.

New Cushon CFO Louw has joined the firm with more than two decades of experience in the financial sector.

Louw worked for over 10 years at American Express, most recently as the vice president for global consumer decision support. Louw’s last role was at the UK publishing giant Reach, where she held the role of commercial finance director.

The Cushon finance chief also worked as the head of commercial finance and corporate development at WorldRemit.

“Cushon’s commitment to ensuring the best outcomes for both its members and the environment is very compelling, along with having established itself as a leader in the pensions space — a sector often criticised for its lack of innovation,” said Louw.

“It’s an exciting time for the business — I’m looking forward to joining a dynamic leadership team focussed on helping Cushon continue to drive positive change for savers.”

Cushon founder and CEO, Ben Pollard, said Louw’s “strong understanding of consumer behaviour will prove invaluable as the company looks to further enhance member experience and deliver positive outcomes”.
