Schexy tech to come to the UK with the ‘Inspiration Centraal’ festival

Dutch hosting firm TransIP is bringing ‘Schexy Tech’ to the UK in April with the launch of Inspiration Centraal – an eight day festival celebrating technology and entrepreneurialism.

The event, which will take place at the Nichols & Clark building on Shoreditch High Street, has been organised by TransIP, with partners including The Guardian.

Speakers including MindCandy founder Michael Acton-Smith (pictured above), futurologist Magnus Lindkvist and Juliana Rotich, founder of Ushahidi.

The event will also play host to an accelerator programme culminating in a session where participants will pitch to potential investors, hosted by Bill Morrow, on the last evening of the festival.

The venue will be split into three areas featuring various activities, including:

  • Live Shows: a theatre space where TED-style talks, panel debates and interactive discussions will take place – free tickets available through www.inspirationcentraal.co.uk
  • Werkspace: incubator-style shared workspace with deskspace, mentors and experts on hand to help visitors on their entrepreneurial journey. The space will be free to use, including complimentary high speed wi-fi, throughout the festival with no bookings necessary.
  • GeeksGeeksGeeks: an inspirational space where TransIP’s Dutch clever clogs will be on hand to demonstrate the company’s ‘Schexy Tech’ product range and impart their tech wizardry on novices and hardcore coders alike.

Jeroen Hüpscher, CEO of TransIP, said:

“Our idea was to create an event that would really inspire attendees, whether they be entrepreneurs, tech enthusiasts or simply passers-by.

“If you’re into tech, the UK is an exciting place to be right now – the digital economy is growing quickly and there are many exciting, talented entrepreneurs and companies here.”

“TransIP’s philosophy is about empowering people to give them the freedom to fulfil their potential – as an entrepreneur, as a business, as a creative.

“As well as offering this empowerment to our customers, we want to give a helping hand to everyone in the London tech scene, to inspire them to be the best they can.”

Inspiration Centraal starts on Thursday 23 April. More details of this and other UK tech events can be found here.
