Innovate Finance has unveiled plans to shine a spotlight on fintech startups across the different regions of the UK with a new pitching initiative.

The City of London Corporation-backed organisation is to run a series of regional pitch events over the next 12 months in the North, South West, Midlands, Scotland, Ireland, and Wales.

In a project dubbed ‘Pitch360: Across the UK’, the events will see entrepreneurs present their novel business solutions to a live audience and panel of high profile industry judges. Candidates will be asked to show how their innovation can supercharge growth and transform financial services for the better.

Janine Hirt, CEO of Innovate Finance, said: “The UK is a global leader when it comes to FinTech investment, but the lion’s share of this funding goes to firms based in the capital.

“Our hope is that this programme will help drive attention and ultimately investment to the brilliant businesses based all across our nation.”

The initiative was announced today by the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Tulip Siddiq, during her keynote address at “Innovation Driving Growth“, Innovate Finance’s fourth FinTech as a Force For Good Forum in central London.

Economic Secretary to the Treasury Tulip Siddiq said: “‘Pitch 360: Across the UK’ is a great opportunity to showcase the outstanding fintech talent across the UK regions, and shine a spotlight on the huge potential of fintech innovation.”
