Senior software engineer, Indeed (Aberdeen)

As a senior software engineer at Indeed Aberdeen, you will work as part of the Enterprise Advertiser team, working across and creating a range of applications designed for advertisers to get the best performance from their ads on Indeed. This includes making sure that formerly-separate ads products are easily available within Indeed Ads, and ensuring that Indeed Ads are available anywhere they are needed within the Indeed ecosystem.

You will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable and testable solutions using bleeding-edge technology with current best practices. A part of the role will require cross-team collaboration and mentorship of the more junior members of the team.

The successful candidate will own entire projects, from working with a product manager and a UX designer on the problem being solved, possible solutions, the UI design, implementation and analytics. You should possess a mix of technical strength, business strength and good product ideas. You will develop front-end applications using industry best practices and adhering to Indeeds UI standards, using modern Javascript and Typescript frameworks (such as React).

What does success look like? The ideal candidate for this role will have a BS or MS in computer science (or equivalent), experience developing front-end systems, experience with backend and API development across the full development lifecycle. Knowledge of React is an advantage while knowledge of Java, .Net or Python is strongly preferred.

Cyber defence analyst, Leidos (Glasgow)

Leidos is in search of an experienced cyber defence analyst to join its task force. You will be based in Glasgow but will be expected to make visits to client sites.

Due to continued expansion and new business wins, Leidos, a global solutions provider specialising in large scale implementations involving science, engineering and technology, requires a cyber defence analyst. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a minimum of 1-3 years’ experience from a cyber security operations centre (CSOC) background or be able to demonstrate sufficient transferable IT security skills and experience to quickly learn the cyber defence analyst role.

To succeed in the role, the candidate must be capable of working under pressure, delivering on multiple client accounts and have an appetite to progress and develop their own career. The role will primarily be working within a CSOC, adhering to a matrix managed environment reporting to a cyber intelligence analyst. The cyber defence analyst will be expected to contribute to the growth and development of the CSOC.

You will be expected to collaborate with and support colleagues in the wider UK Information Assurance and Cyber Security Practice. You will collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders outside of Information Assurance and Cyber Security within and without Leidos to ensure it detects and responds to cybersecurity incidents for its customers.

 The ideal candidate will need an understanding of network and boundary protection controls for both cloud and on-premise solutions. Areas include but are not limited to firewalls, network access control lists, network security groups, DDoS protection, VPN’s, mail gateways, web proxies, load balancers including web application firewalls, intrusion prevention system and intrusion detection systems.

They will also need experience in using multiple detection and preventive cybersecurity tools such as security information event monitoring (SIEM), security orchestration and automated response (SOAR) and firewalls.

Quality assurance engineer, Indeed

Along with UX, product, and software developers, you are a subject matter expert on everything tested and built.

The role will involve functional, usability, compatibility, performance, security and accessibility testing. You will test across various countries, languages, and applications as well as browsers and devices (mobile, tablets, etc.) and also help to influence how your product team works on a day-to-day basis.
