The Chapar raises £500k for European expansion

Men’s online styling service The Chapar has raised £500k to expand into European markets.

Founded by father and son team Joe and Sam Middleton, The Chapar is a fashion concierge service for men providing personalised clothing selections delivered direct to the customer.

Industry influencers

The investment round was led by Sir John Hegarty, Chief Creative and co-founder of advertising agency BBH, and Warren Johnson, CEO and founder of PR agency W.

Retail leaders Will Hobhouse, CEO of Heal’s, and Rob Durkin, co-founder of FusePump, were also involved.

Sam Middleton commented on the investment:

We are very excited to have raised investment from such an influential group of people.

These industry experts will help us drive our successful business forward into the future to help more and more men upgrade their wardrobes with ease.

Former President of Levi Straus EMEA Joe Middleton believes from experience that men simply don’t like to shop.

However The Chapar are not the only company in this market.

Thread provide a similar service, developing one-to-on relationships with clients in hope of provided more accurate and personalised clothing suggestions.

In January, Thread secured £1.6m of investment used to expand their team of stylists at the headquarters in Shoreditch, east London.
