Fidelity makes first foray into FinTech

Fidelity Personal Investing has entered the FinTech space with Investsense, an online investment assistant which Fidelity says is designed to provide customers with a series of helpful prompts to help them make the most of their investments and help them towards their financial goals.

Investsense is an intuitive and smart online assistant that anticipates customer intentions. It has been designed to unobtrusively help customers to think about some of the key things that may impact their investments.

Currently, Investsense provides Fidelity Personal Investing customers with four digital prompts to guide them along their investment journey. These are delivered by a proprietary engine which selects the prompts most relevant to each customer during each online visit to the personal investing website. The prompts relate to ISAs and reviewing cash.

Stuart Welch, head of personal investing at Fidelity International, said: “I’m pleased to announce this exciting first step into the world of FinTech for Fidelity Personal Investing.

“We believe that Investsense offers something truly unique and can really help our customers both to make easier and better-informed investment decisions that will ultimately help them towards reaching their investment goals and support them managing their accounts.

“We have plans to develop Investsense further with a roadmap that includes increasing the type and variety of nudges, and extension into other mediums such as SMS, so that it continues to meet the evolving needs and behaviours of our customers.”
