01Health has raised a $15m (£11.2m) Series A round to support the launch of its platform across the UK and its introduction to the US market.
Operational since 2022, 01Health is a healthtech startup designed to bring specialist care to local clinics through a unified technology layer combining clinical protocols, specialist oversight, AI tooling, patient acquisition, communication and monitoring systems.
01Health says it addresses the global gap in access to specialist healthcare by identifying healthcare verticals where access to specialist treatment is bottlenecked by a shortage in specialists, geographical isolation or distance from major cities, and infrastructure challenges. The firm then provides a platform to enable specialist services to be provided to patients at local clinics everywhere.
The platform powers orthodontics platform 32Co and dental sleep medicine platform Aerox Health, with additional specialties in other areas of healthcare currently in development and US expansion underway.
01Health describes its platform and services as ‘bringing Harley Street to the high street’.
The Series A was led by Gresham House Ventures, with follow-on investment from existing backers Balderton Capital, Eka Ventures and Wavemaker360, alongside angels including Nicolas Cary, co-founder of Blockchain.com.
“The biggest bottleneck in healthcare isn’t cost; it’s access. Specialists are concentrated in a handful of postcodes; patients aren’t,” says Dr Sonia Szamocki, founder and CEO at 01Health.
“01Health is the infrastructure designed to close that gap. 32Co and Aerox have already brought expert dental treatments to areas of the UK where such treatments were inaccessible, proving the concept that specialist care could be democratised if the right technology layer existed underneath it.”
