Lucida AI has raised a $7m (£5.3m) seed round to accelerate its AI-powered language coaching platform for consumers and enterprises.
Through real-time speech-to-speech conversations and instant feedback, Lucida AI helps users to improve pronunciation, fluency and confidence by simulating real-world scenarios. This spans from everyday chats to business meetings, presentations and client calls.
As people and organisations communicate across more languages and cultures, spoken fluency and confidence increasingly shape how clearly someone is understood. Lucida AI says it addresses this challenge by giving individuals and business teams continuous, on-demand speaking practice that fits into the flow of their day.
Through the platform, users can speak directly with AI in real time without typing or going through scripted exercises. It acts as an AI-powered communication coach, helping users practice through natural dialogue.
The seed round was led by Velocity Capital and included participation from Next Tier Ventures, Look AI Ventures, Bogazici Ventures, Yapı Kredi Frwrd Ventures and Ünlü & Co.
Lucida AI will use the new capital to expand into new languages and geographies, further develop its proprietary speech-to-speech AI infrastructure, scale its enterprise offering globally and accelerate product development.
