Should the UK build on the success of Here East?

On a visit to the Olympic Park, UKTN spoke with the Here East team on how to grow British innovation

Strolling around the innovation district in the Olympic Park, one could almost believe they were in the heart of Silicon Valley, if it weren’t for the decidedly grey East London sky.

Exploring the Here East complex, you can find global companies, early-stage startups looking to turn vision into reality, university students and staff researching away in vast laboratories and what’s more, you can find those same groups mingling together.

Here East is an innovation campus based in the Olympic Park, originally built to host the 2012 London games.

Today the more than 1,000,000 sq ft site’s tenants range from household names like Ford to higher education institutions like UCL to a variety of startups hosted in tech co-working spaces owned by Plexal and The Trampery....
