Cambridge-based startup Obrizum has partnered with aerospace and defence company BAE Systems to launch AI-powered military training tools.
Obrizum is a data-driven upskilling platform that uses AI to analyse performance data from employees in training and adapts its teaching to suit users’ needs.
Its platform generates custom skills challenges which are targeted to suit the particular career development needs of the user.
Obrizum, which in November 2022 raised £9.5m, has developed a specialised version of its adaptive learning platform in partnership with BAE to support the training of military workers.
“By harnessing technologies such as those delivered by Obrizum we can create the kind of immersive and engaging training environments our customers need and ensure training is a forethought, not an afterthought,” said Lucy Walton, head of Training at BAE Systems’ Air.
“Technology changes as quickly as the threat does and this allows us to be more innovative than ever before to meet the needs of the digitally native students of today and tomorrow.”
Speaking to City A.M., Obrizum chief executive said the training system – called the iDigital Learning Environment (DLE) – removed much of the “overhead costs” and “inordinate” labour requirements of “old-fashioned” training.
Obrizum was founded in 2015 and has raised around £14m from backers such as PwC, Guinness Asset Management, Qatar Science and Technology Park and Dubai Angel Investors.
