Machiavellian: the world’s most luxurious pyjamas

Don’t know what to do with that bonus? Add some decadence to your walk-in wardrobe with £700 pyjamas

Once Head of Menswear Design at Pringle, entrepreneur Steven Young is trying to raise £10,000 on Kickstarter to launch his luxury men’s sleepwear range Machiavellian.

The vibrantly adorned pyjama bottoms are made from silk printed on the banks of Lake Como by Italian craftsmen and are handmade by the same London artisans who make shirts for Prince Charles, and will RRP at just £700 each.

What recession?

How do you sleep at night? — In £700 hand-made silk pyjamas, that’s how.

Luxury

The bright, vivid prints have been designed to flow across the seams, and in case you were wondering, they are not available in cotton, and no, they will not be offering a women’s range.

“I’d been involved in designing men’s fashion for over 15 years and was amazed to find that luxury men’s sleepwear hadn’t changed much since the 1940s,” says Young on his Kickstarter page.

“Even higher priced sleepwear fails to excite consumers used to wearing handmade luxury clothes during the day and evening,” he adds. And let’s face it, he’s just saying what we’re all thinking.

Take a break from the tedium of austerity and splash out on something truly luxurious by pledging support for Machiavellian now. Or just nip into Primark and grab whatever.
