What’s the state of female entrepreneurship in the UK and why is it that women receive less funding than their male counterparts? These are some of the questions we sought to answer during our sit-down interview with EY’s Anna Faelten.
Faelten spoke about the most recent stats with regards to women-led businesses and investment, acknowledging that there’s still plenty to be done in order to achieve equality in the business world but she noted that some initiatives were already in place.
“I think the investor community has woken up and realised that [not investing in female-led businesses] is a bit of a lost opportunity for them.
“The entrepreneurial community has also woken up to this and diversity has obviously been on the corporate agenda for quite some time.
“We are also seeing more active involvement from government. We are not there yet, things aren’t moving as fast as they should, but they’re moving in the right direction,” Faelten added.
