Digital 2016 promotes Welsh tech, Amazon delivers food & more in your Week in Tech

This week we’re filming from Huckletree in Shoreditch and spoke to Gabriela Hersham, the CEO.
Investments
Hibob, a people management platform for SMEs, has raised $7.5m in seed funding from Silicon Valley-based Bessemer Venture Partners – an investor in Skype, LinkedIn and Pinterest.
Smart Pension, an automated enrollment pension provider, has closed a £3.3m Series A round.
Satago, an automated accounts receivable software, has received £1.6m in equity investment from ESF Capital, an institutional peer-to-peer accelerator.
Digital 2016, Newport
Digital 2016 took place in Wales this week.
Over 1,000 attendees took part at Newport’s Celtic Manor.
The event saw business leaders from Microsoft, Cisco, MIT, Innovate UK, and Tech City UK take to the stage urging Welsh businesses to embrace technology and play to their strengths.
The ‘future five’ were announced – the predictions of the digital trends set to transform the way Wales lives, works, and plays in the coming years.
Amazon food delivery
Amazon is launching a full online supermarket service in the UK.
Amazon Prime customers in Central and East London will be able to order a full weekly shop and get it delivered the same day.
It plans to roll the deliveries out further across the UK, but has not set a specific date yet.
Download of the week
Our ‘Download of the Week’ is Prezi, a cloud based collaborative software that lets you create dynamic presentations and adapt them on the go.
And finally
And finally, the tech failure of the week came from the UK government.
Their register to vote website crashed as tens of thousands of people flooded in to register to vote in the EU referendum at the last moment.
The deadline was extended, but has now closed.
