Introducing UKTN’s Norfolk and Suffolk regional tech report

Norfolk Suffolk

For its latest report examining the ecosystems of various tech hubs around Britain, UKTN is looking at the East Anglia counties of Norfolk and Suffolk.

Though it may lack the tech reputation of nearby hubs like Cambridge and London, Norfolk and Suffolk have quietly been carving out names for themselves as centres of digital business.

With places like Norwich and Ipswich boasting up-and-coming startups as well as a presence from giants such as BT, Huawei and Cisco, the regions contain both promising and mature tech talent.

The UKTN Norfolk and Suffolk report looks at the subsectors that are thriving in the region, including agritech and insurtech, as well as the research institutions like the University of East Anglia and the University of Suffolk that foster innovation and skills in the area.

The report also includes findings from a survey of tech industry representatives in the region.

Among those in the counties, securing funding and hiring were the most common challenges to doing business, and more support for entrepreneurs was the most frequently requested growth opportunity.

The Norfolk and Suffolk regional tech report is available for free on UKTN.
