Meet Adam-Lucas Pettit from Travel Roulette – startup of the week
Every week we’ll publish a 30 second pitch from 12 leading startups from across London. In this series we took the founders to the River Thames, aboard Canary Wharf’s speedboat for the most exciting pitch of their lives.
Deal or no deal
Ever fancied a holiday but not been able to find a cheap deal?
Most people decide they want to go away long before they pick a destination – and often trawl through place after place looking for somewhere that happens to be cheap.
The solution
Travel Roulette is the travel comparison site for people who don’t care where. Enter your nearest airport and the dates you’d like to travel and click ‘Spin’.
Their algorithm searches through the hundreds of constantly fluctuating flights to find you the cheapest possible flight – to anywhere in the world – at that particular time.
That means you know what you’re getting is the best deal you could possibly get right now – and may be an adventure you’d never even considered.
Flightplan
Travel Roulette is still under development, but co-founder Adam-Lucas Pettit hopes to launch within a couple of months.
We get a lot of people who like the idea so much they complain that we haven’t made it yet!
So we’re launching a stripped-down beta version for people to try as soon as possible.
An adventure – without the risk
What sets Travel Roulette apart from sites like lastminute.com is you don’t have to be spontaneous if you don’t want to.
You can ‘Spin Again’ as many times as you like, and book days, weeks or months in advance.
But that doesn’t stop true daredevils from getting their thrills:
We’ll soon roll out our ‘Daredevil Spin’ option, where you input your credit card details and a maximum price and then hit ‘Spin’ – and what you get is where you go!
