Each week we trawl through the internet’s jumble sale of apps to bring you a cool, new app that will make your life better.

This week’s download is PocketHighStreet, a mobile marketplace for London’s cycling community.

It is available free to download on iOS.

London’s cyclists unite

PocketHighStreet brings together cyclists and cycling shops from all over London in a one-click-and-collect marketplace.

The app lets cyclists discover exactly what they need from the area around them. They can search the extensive database that covers hundreds of local bike shops and then click-and-collect through the secure checkout.

It gives retailers the ability to be discovered by cyclists all over London and gives them insights to better understand local demand.

Beta launch

The app launches in beta this week and cofounder Alex Schlagman says that the feedback during the private beta over the past three months has been very exciting.

We achieved our target of building the largest public database of cycling products for sale locally in London, before our public launch.

Testament to the app, some of their biggest multichannel retailers are seeing over 50% of their online sales picked up in store.

Up next

For PocketHighStreet it is now all about scaling up.

They want to grow their database as well as expand beyond London, cycling and iOS.

The company completed their first seed round earlier this year and are already looking to get most investors involved towards the end of 2014.
