Blogger crowdfunds £4k for phone-hacking trial

A London-based blogger has raised £4,000 on IndieGoGo to tweet during the phone-hacking trial.

The trial involves former News of the World editors Rebekah Brooks and Andy Coulson.

Peter Jukes has followed the case for a number of years and tweeted during the opening remarks of the case.

The tweet, the whole tweet and nothing but the tweet

However he didn’t have enough money to cover the trial and sustain a living as it’s expected to last up to 6 months.

But after calls for him to return by supporters, he turned to crowdfunding for financial backing.

Thanks to his followers, he reached the target in just 24 hours with 6 days remaining.

Mr Jukes has said the cash will cover his ‘living-expenses’ until Christmas.
